Running from January 19 – 22, this performance of original student choreography is a great showcase for Western’s many talented dance students.
The show will be held at the PAC Mainstage, at 7:30 p.m. on Jan 19, 20 and 21, with the final show on Jan 22 a matinee at 2 p.m.
This performance is an annual tradition for students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) dance program. Students pursuing choreography, dance and lighting design participate in the creation of the work.
Since the show features original work by students, there is no set genre for the dance. Dance professor Nolan Dennet describes it as impressionistic and contemporary, and urges the audience to simply enjoy the show, rather than try to “figure it out.”
The choreographers for this performance are Tara Reiter, Evyn Bartlett, Keenan Komoto, Shannon Jung, Laurel Jenkins and Toshinae French.
One piece, “A-Lure-ing,” will represent Western at the American College Dance Festival in the spring. Tickets can be bought at the PAC Box Office.
