At the Associated Students Executive Board meeting on April 15, Selome Zerai, VP for activities, was absent. The meeting was conducted over Microsoft Teams.
Executive Board Regular Public Comment
Fourth-year Student Sanai Anang presented the Corona Crisis Mitigation Fund, a program he is developing that would help support graduating seniors in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The board endorsed the project with a vote of six in favor and zero against and abstaining. The AS Student Senate also endorsed the potential project during their meeting on April 7.
Alternative Transportation Fee Proposal
The board discussed a potential Alternative Transportation Fee increase proposed for the 2020-2021 school year. Trever Mullins, VP for sustainability, said that the proposed increase of 3.6% would go towards the Whatcom Transit Authority [WTA] bus passes, as well as additional WTA expenses, according to the proposal. The new fee would be $28.50, up from $27.50.
The board will vote on the proposed fee increase in a future meeting.
