On June 4, the Associated Students’ Elections Board disqualified AS President-elect Nate Jo, VP for Sustainability-elect Nora Harren and VP for Governmental Affairs-elect Nicole Ballard after Abdul-Malik Ford, who ran for AS President, filed a formal grievance against the three candidates. In his grievance, Ford claimed that the candidate’s violated the election’s code by sharing Shred the Contract’s endorsement on social media.
All three candidates have filed an appeal to the Elections Board’s decision, and on Wednesday, June 10, the AS Appeals Panel will meet from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. to evaluate the Election Board’s decision. The meetings will be open to the public, but viewers will not have the opportunity to comment during the hearing.
The AS Review will continue to report on this story as these proceedings take place and more information becomes available.
