Kasey Campbell
My name is Kasey Campbell and I am running to be one of your student senators for Woodring College of Education! I am a fourth year student at WWU and my major is a dual certification in elementary education and special education. After working for WWU Residence Life as a Resident Adviser for two years, advocating for the rights of our LGBTQ+ students in the Gender Inclusive Housing (now called PRIDE Housing) work group, and participating in numerous clubs throughout the years, I have seen the phenomenal effort students put in, and the areas where intuitional support may be lacking. I am here to help you advocate for the changes Western needs, and I would love to speak with you about any ideas you may have! I look forward to working with all of you!
Alexis Hunt
I am an Elementary and Special Education major. This year has shown us how toxic and pervasive systemic racism is in our society. We have also learned how powerful one voice can be when amplifying others. This has led me to run for student senate to say enough is enough. As your senator, I will work to create a more equal and just community at Western. I will work to provide a voice for minority groups like Black students, Latin x students, Indigenous students, LGBTQ+ students, and students with disabilities. With every proposal, I will fight to have these voices included and considered. I will also work to listen to other perspectives and life experiences. If we are to get to an equal and just community, we must all work together. Or we will continue to exclude people that may have the answers we need. Thank you for your consideration.
Kendrick Jackson
Hello there, I am Kendrick Jackson. I am a Junior here at Western, studying both Sociology and Human Services. I am also an intersectional Queer and Indigenous scholar, with a passion for social justice and for using my voice for transformative change. These passions, and my unique experiences, are the reason why I am here, running to represent the Woodring College of Education in the AS Senate. Between my people-oriented jobs on campus and my experience in student leadership, I have built a thorough understanding of Western, its students, and our needs. Through my studies, I will continue to strengthen both my advocacy for the marginalized and my knowledge of how to best serve communities. Now, with your vote, I want to step up and commit to make Western’s education a more accessible, inclusive, and anti-racist experience. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Thank you!
Elizabeth Rosales
Hello fellow students! My name is Liz Rosales and I am in my 4 year at WWU and my second year in the Early Childhood Education dual endorsement Special Education major with a minor in Leadership Studies. During my time at WWU I have had the privilege of working with many different types of students on campus. I have worked as an evaluation training manager as well as a tour guide for the admissions office and I am a member of the Lutheran Campus Ministries. Being involved with these diverse groups is why I am passionate about representing all majors within our Woodring community and why I want to bring the best opportunities I can to our future educators. I’m particularly interested in bringing in guest speakers and sourcing internship opportunities for our human service majors so that they better understand their options. GO VIKS!!
