A series of photos where people are posing for Style Spotlight. Sophia Nunn // Wavelength
By: Sophia Nunn
As we wrap up our fourth installment of Style Spotlight, we celebrate a full year of fashion on campus. Self expression through the wardrobe of Western remains one of my favorite aspects of walking through campus. As the days get longer and the sun unthaws us from the winter, we shed thick layers of clothing and find new ways of self expression.
Setting up in Red Square, Tim, our writer, and I find a pocket of shade and get ready for an afternoon of chatting with strangers and taking photos. Through these last four quarters, this project has not only helped me hone my technical skills as a photographer, but allowed me to foster self-growth and expression in unexpected ways. Every quarter I was persistently inspired by others’ vulnerability and openness to support another’s vision come to life, even if that meant simply stepping in front of a camera and introducing themselves. Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel to have had this opportunity and as I wrap up my time at Western, I hope Style Spotlight’s legacy lives on.Â
