Day one of Style Spotlight began in typical Pacific Northwest fashion with drizzles and frigid gusts. Lily and I lugged our gear to Red Square shivering, but excited. However as we quickly set off, the clouds opened up and rain began to coat our table. We raced undercover where we found a bit of solace from the cold. Yet, we realized we were hidden from the few passers-byers that braved the school day. Time moved slowly, but the occasional presence of familiar faces warmed our hearts and prepared us for the rest of what was to come. As hoped, day two thawed the silence of campus. Red Square was bustling with students who readily soaked up the first rays of sun of the year, and spirits were high as students eagerly showed off their layered outfits and unique personalities.
This edition of Style Spotlight brought me a great deal of joy as you all brought your most colorful and creative outfits yet. Winter quarter was especially dreary this year, but the student body never failed to create their own light through the darkness of the passing seasons. I look forward to making lasting connections through my final Style Spotlight in Spring.
