Photos and words by Ella Banken

Over a hundred people gathered in Red Square at noon, Thursday, Oct. 11 in support of sexual assault survivors. The event was organized by a group of first-year students, in wake of the instatement of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court last Saturday. Students lined the fountain holding signs of support and statistics about the prevalence of sexual assault. A handful of predetermined people spoke, and then others participated by sharing their stories. The intent of the organizers was to create a space where survivors could be supported and believed. Several audience members and participants became emotional upon hearing the words that were shared.
