The Viking Union Multipurpose Room had been closed to house the VU Bookstore while construction for the new Multicultural Center was underway.

On Friday Oct. 4 the MPR venue came back to life, with Associated Student Productions hosting a hip-hop and rhythm and blues concert.

The lineup was KLEFTO, Will Jordan, Parisalexa and Dave B with a special appearance from Romaro Franceswa.

Local electronic music artist KLEFTO opened the concert.

Will Jordan, a Seattle-based singer and songwriter hit the stage next.

Singer, Songwriter and Producer Parisalexa, a local R&B artist, was a crowd favorite.

“Final attendance count was 193 people. The past two years we have not seen the amount of people come to a show this early on in the quarter so we were quite thrilled with the number of people coming out!” AS Pop Music Coordinator Hunter Gillam said, in an email.

The next concert hosted by ASP will be Sound Block, an electronic pop showcase, on Nov. 1 featuring Manatee Commune and Samuel E-M & The Joyful Noise. More info can be found here.
